“a” is a series of small clay figurines. As working with three dimensional model kindles the imagination in a little different way then sketching with pen and paper I’ve started to work with self hardening clay to find new forms. At first the idea was to utilize them as stage prop for painting studies but then their individual value as art pieces shined through.

Their form corresponds with the rest of my artistic work. In all pieces from this series, I’ve tried to utilize everyday construction items like nails and screws to somewhat convey a message of something building – being created, merging spaces of reality and abstract.

This piece in particular reminds me of something being born – finding its aimed shape.
