The Visual Identity Concept

The company adapting to change

Macrix Technology Group is a boutique software house building bespoke solutions for heavy industry – metalworking, mining, automated warehousing. The identity grew in-house, one small piece at a time – mailings, two-pagers, flyers, social posts – and the 25th anniversary was the point where it consolidated into a full concept.

It was built to carry three things: the stability required to write code for heavy industrial systems, software treated as a physical material, and adaptability, drawn from the company's bespoke work and its move to bring AI into it. The sequence below traces that idea in five steps – from raw binary to a solid solution and back to a fluid, adaptable state, with steel refining as the visual reference.

The sequence below traces that idea in five steps – from raw binary to a solid solution and back to a fluid, adaptable state, with steel refining as the visual reference.

The base of any code: two states, 0 and 1, in the most universal contrast – black and white.

Those states combine into software, accumulating into a single form – the diamond.

The software sets into a solution and begins to solidify.

The solution fully hardens – built to hold up in domains where a single error costs millions.

The solid is brought back to a fluid state: adaptable, still cohesive. The reference is steel, melted and refined.

25th anniversary logo

Infinity loop

The logo carries another layer of the concept. Through the 25th anniversary work, the recurring motif was a glass ribbon bent into an infinity symbol. That form is built into the mark itself – the lower half of the 2 transitions into the 5, and the two meet as the infinity loop. The idea was continuation: a company that keeps adapting and means to keep going, in an organisation with high employee retention.

Sizes

The ray-like texture inside the infinity loop was a nice addition to the mark, but it turns unreadable at small sizes. To hold legibility across formats, the logo is drawn in variants tied to size ranges: the full detailed version above 150mm, a simplified version between 17 and 150mm, and a reduced mark between 9 and 17mm. The detailed version stays in use wherever there's room; the smaller ranges keep the mark clear where there isn't.

Variety of colors

Macrix's colours are black, red and white, and the anniversary mark uses them directly. The silver variant was added alongside these, since a 25th anniversary is traditionally associated with silver.

Assets for the new website

Animation sets

Alongside the anniversary, Macrix was building a new company website with an outside studio. To keep the brand concept consistent across it, the visual assets were produced in-house – the animations, illustrations and icons that run through the site. Each set draws on the same identity language, so the website stays consistent with the rest of visual identity.

The exhibition was housed in a shipping container – a deliberate reference to the dockyard and maritime industrial history of the Tricity area. The container was fitted out as a complete exhibition space: interior scenography, screens, lighting, and the interactive app station – all ready to be moved if needed on another location.

Product illustrations

Two illustrations, one for each of two Macrix products, made in the same glass material language as the rest of the identity. Each model is built from forms that represent the attributes of the product it stands for.

Icon sets

Icon Set

The icon set is built from the same 0 and 1 particles the identity starts from, joined by bent curves that carry the fluidity of the glass into a simple line style.

The Game

25 years of Macrix history

The Game was a large physical board – 5 metres wide and 2 high – printed on cardboard panels and installed for the anniversary celebration near Poznań. Its illustration is a long swirl of glass with the years marked along it, working as a timeline. Participants placed pieces in their right spots on the board: each piece a person who joined Macrix at that point, a project, or an important client.
