The Concept

Putting traditional material in a new light
Treasure Box of the Future / Kapsuła Przyszłości was a narrative exhibition of modern amber jewellery curated by Beata Bochińska. Amber carries a long tradition in Poland, particularly in Gdańsk, and is closely tied to older generations. The exhibition presented amber as a material for contemporary design, showing the work of current designers.
Part of the team
My role was to collaborate with the set designer Justyna Hys-Bochińska, the cinematographer Konrad Kulczyński, and the curator Beata Bochińska to put the exhibition together. I was responsible for the graphic and motion side, taking care of the design from concept to production.
The App
Free Surfer, Power Girl, Engaged Activist and Sensitive Creator
The exhibition was narrated through four fictional characters. They appeared in the video materials and in the application representing four audience groups to whom amber jewellery could appear interesting. As an extension to the main idea of exhibition I proposed a UI that resembles character selection screens from video games.

Character selection screen
The app was built in HTML and JavaScript. The 360° rotation uses sprite animation – twelve green-screen photographs per figure assembled into a sequence – a practical choice that kept application light, made use of already planned photoshoot and didn't require 3D modeling of human figure that could be time consuming. Alongside I proposed reduced motion and low-contrast modes to make the app more accessible for visitors with sensory sensitivities.
The Exhibition
Open for everyone
The exhibition was housed in a shipping container – a deliberate reference to the dockyard and maritime industrial history of the Tricity area. The container was fitted out as a complete exhibition space: interior scenography, screens, lighting, and the interactive app station – all ready to be moved if needed on another location.
The cargo has been delivered
The premiere took place on 5 August 2024 at Przystanek Port Gdańsk Pod Żaglami, on the waterfront next to the Baltic Philharmonic, as part of Jarmark Świętego Dominika – one of Europe's oldest public fairs, drawing around 70,000 visitors a day. The exhibition ran multiple times through early 2025, always with free admission, as part of the city's Światowa Stolica Bursztynu programme.
